For the first time Saint Lucia will be celebrated in Hull Minster Tuesday 4th December 7pm.
Lucia celebration is a Scandinavian tradition based on the story about Saint Lucy of Syracuse, Sicily.
Falling within the Advent season, Saint Lucia’s Day is viewed as an event signaling the arrival of Christmastide, pointing to the arrival of the Light of Christ in the calendar, on Christmas Day.
In cooperation with Hull Minster, the Danish Seamen’s Church in Hull, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce and Danish UK Association we are pleased to invite any one near and far interested – that is you, your family, friends and colleagues, communities in all around the Humber to experience this most joyous Christmas tradition – all are welcome.
Entrance is free on a first come basis though we kindly encourage visitors to donate towards the Minster.
Tuesday 4th December from 6pm for a 7pm start time.
The Minster, S Church Side, Hull, HU1 2JJ
Free to attend. Entry on a first come basis.
