The NBCC Events Focus in 2019
We are looking forward to presenting you with an interesting and diverse events calendar for 2019. The main events of the year will surround topics such as Gender Diversity and Inclusion, Ocean Space, Energy, Food and Drinks, and Human Rights in Business.
We also welcome input from you on relevant topics for events, and please get in touch if you would like to host an event. Everyone is welcome to join our newly formed Events Committee, that meets regularly, both in person and virtually. Please feel free to share your ideas with us. In addition, you can voice your opinions at the upcoming AGM in March: https://nbccuk.com/eventbrite-event/113th-annual-general-meeting-of-the-nbcc/
On 10. April DNB will host our event “Gender diversity and inclusion with a Norwegian twist” – where major companies such as DNB and Equinor will showcase their initiatives within Gender Pay Gap reporting and international Paternity leave. There will be a panel discussion and a Q & A session. This event should appeal to anybody interested in changes in the structure of the labour market and the shift towards a more equal and inclusive one.
Tickets are now available, with an early bird offer until 31. March: https://nbccuk.com/eventbrite-event/gender-diversity-with-a-norwegian-twist/
In May we will run our annual Energy event where the focus will be on current and trending aspects of the evolving energy sector.
Seadrill to join speakers at Energy event in May
We are delighted that Haynes and Boone decided to sponsor NBCC’s annual Energy/Offshore event in May, and that Seadrill – the global offshore drilling company – will provide one of the speakers. The tentative topic is “Managing Remote Operations with Advanced Technology and AI”. KBR is also actively supporting this event, and we will shortly reach out to other potential sponsors and speakers.
We will also invite you to our summer party in June, which we are organising together with DNK and other Norwegian organisations in London. We hope to repeat the success from last year´s NBCC summer celebration.
After the summer break– in September – our next session in the series on Business and Human Rights will focus on Business and Human Rights from a corporate perspective. This is a Team Norway event, supported by the Norwegian Embassy, where we all come together to address this pressing issue.
Ocean Space is another Team Norway event that will most likely be held in October, exploring the challenges regarding territorial rights.
We have started a new tradition in 2019 – The Nordic Culinary Adventure initiative – a collaboration between the different Nordic chambers of commerce. Nordic food and drink are the main focus, allowing you to network and dine in a relaxed atmosphere after a hectic day of work. Tickets are available here: https://nbccuk.com/eventbrite-event/nordic-culinary-adventure-london/
Additionally, as a part of our focus on culinary experiences, we are taking part in the Foreign Chambers’ food and drinks event in September hosted by the Italian-British Chamber of Commerce. Do not miss this opportunity to indulge yourself in Italian food and wine.
Lastly, you can already sign up for our annual Christmas lunch on 30. November. This is the event of the season where we encourage everyone to come together, celebrate the holidays, and enjoy the variety of traditional Norwegian Christmas food and drinks we will be serving.
Looking forward to seeing you all!
