Please meet Vestre, an internationally renowned Norwegian manufacturer of urban furniture, and a new member of the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce. We talked to Vestre’s Commercial Director, Romy Rawlings, to learn more about the company, their sustainability commitments and an exciting new project they are working on.

Hi Romy, how are you?

Hello, I’m very well thank you and surprisingly busy, given the current situation around Covid-19 here in the UK.

Can you please tell us a bit about Vestre?

Vestre is a Norwegian manufacturer of urban furniture. For more than 70 years, we have helped create social meeting places for millions of people. There is much talk about the triple bottom line, recording social and environmental, as well as financial result. We are happy to join in, and for a long time we have had this motto: Everyone can save the world. A little. We have made long term sustainability a prerequisite in all parts of our operations. To be more specific, we have tied this commitment to nine of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.

Vestre’s sustainability commitments are truly inspiring. Is there one project in particular that Vestre is working on at the moment?

This has to be The Plus! The Plus is our new factory in Norway that has just commenced on site and we can’t wait to see progress and its opening in a year or so.

We are very pleased to welcome Vestre to the NBCC, but why did Vestre choose to become a member?

We are proud to be a Nordic brand and import not only beautifully designed Nordic furniture but also a Nordic approach in everything that we do. We hope to meet other like minded businesses and people through the NBCC who share our Norwegian background. We are sure we will be stronger together with other members through this association with the NBCC and look forward to promoting our Norwegian/British business in order to continue our current growth plans.

Thank you so much for your time, Romy, and a warm welcome to Vestre – new member of the NBCC.
