Equinor is one of our contributors and also a sponsor of this conference, and we are grateful for their involvement. The conference could not have been pulled off without their expertise and engagement!
Equinor is widely recognised as one of the most innovative companies in the energy industry. Its purpose is to turn natural resources into energy for people and progress for society, and it is present in around 30 countries worldwide. The company is a major investor in the UK’s energy infrastructure, and its UK activities include offshore wind projects, upstream operations on the continental shelf, and delivering reliable piped gas.
Holly Pattenden, Lead Advisor UK, is a panellist on session 1 at Energetic Future 2023.
Equinor will operate Dogger Bank Wind Farm from Port of Tyne in North East England. Dogger Bank will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm upon completion. No less than £9 billion of capital investment is being provided into low-carbon infrastructure. The project delivers substantial economic benefits to the UK and the environment. Equinor has long experience with wind power in the UK and built and implemented the world’s first floating offshore wind farm.
Equinor is reducing emissions from its operations and products, focusing on the storage and utilisation of CO2, decarbonisation of natural gas through hydrogen value chains, low carbon fuel transportation solutions, and electrification of platforms. For over 20 years Equinor has been storing carbon dioxide in reservoirs deep beneath the Norwegian North Sea. Now it aims to use that experience to help develop the East Coast Cluster into a global leader in low carbon technologies, using CCS and hydrogen, with an ambition to link the Humber and Teesside to permanent storage under the North Sea.
