How do I / my company become a member of the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce?

What are the different types of membership and where can I find out which category I should apply membership for?
How do I find out if the company I work for is already a member of the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce?
We list all the companies that are members here.
How long does my membership last for?
Our memberships run throughout the calendar year from January to December.
How do I know when it is time to renew my membership?
The Chamber will issue invoices when it is time for membership renewal.
What do I do if I want to discontinue my membership?
If you don’t wish to renew your membership you have to let us know by 31.12. by sending an e-mail or by using the online cancellation form.
The company I work for is a Corporate or Partner member of the Chamber. Does that mean that I am a member too and can attend events at a membership price?
My company is a chamber member and wants to host an event, what do we do next?
E-mail us on: firstname.lastname@example.org give us a call. We can set up a meeting to discuss topic, format, objectives etc.
Is it possible to upgrade to a different membership category during the year?
Yes, get in touch with us and we will issue you with an invoice covering the difference in membership fees.
Why does my payment not go through?
If a payment does not go through it may be that:
- Not all the required fields of information has been filled in
- You are using a card that is not accepted by our payment system
Please remember that bacs/ bank transfer is another available option when you register to pay. See information on the payment form.
How many events do you host per year and are they all in London?
We host over 40 Networking events, conferences and seminars per year. Events are held either in London or Aberdeen.
How do I register to attend events?
You can find event invitations on our website. Open the invitation for the event you want to attend and you will find an online registration link.
What are the Joint-Nordic events?
The Joint-Nordic events are events hosted in collaboration with the other Nordic chambers of Commerce. Chamber members can attend these events at membership price irrespectively of which Nordic chamber they are a member of.
I want to find suppliers and distributers for my products. Can the Chamber help me?
As a member of the Norwegian-British Chamber of Commerce you will get access to our Trade Directory which lists all our member companies and their contact details.
Are events only in Norwegian?
All events are held in English.
Can I attend events without being a member of the Chamber?
Yes, but for many events you will have to pay a non-member price to attend. If you plan to attend a couple of events it actually pays off to be a member.
Can I bring friends and colleagues to events?
Yes, as long as it doesn’t say “members only” on the invitation then you can bring friends and colleagues.
My company is not a member of the Chamber but we want to host an event. Is this possible?
One of the membership benefits of the Chamber is that corporate members are given the opportunity to promote and market themselves to our other members through events. We therefore host events with member-companies or potential member companies.
What advertising and marketing opportunities does the Chamber offer to member companies?

Where can I find a list of companies in Norway?
Nortrade is a good resource for finding potential business partners in Norway. The Norwegian ‘Brønnøysund Register’ is also a good resource. The register is similar to Company’s House in the UK. You can find the register here
Where can I find a list of Norwegian companies in the UK?
The Norwegian-British Chamber compiles an annual Trade Directory which lists contact details to all member companies. The Trade Directory is a member benefit and is distributed to members of the chamber.
However, a full list of Norwegian or Norwegian related businesses in the UK does not exist at the moment.
Can the Chamber provide me with an ATA Carnet form?
To obtain an ATA Carnet form you can contact for instance the

My company in Norway wants to export a product to the UK, who should I talk to for advice?
UK Trade and Invest or Innovation Norway (tel: 020 7389 8800) are both good starting points. You can also check the list of our member companies if you need help with legal/tax advice etc.

Where can I find information about jobs in the Norwegian-British Community?
You can find job-opportunities advertised on the noticeboard on our website. If you subscribe to our mailings you will also receive regular updates about jobs. You can also attend our events to build up your network and build new contacts.
How do I advertise a job position on your webpages?
Contact us on email@example.com for information about prices and availability.
How do I sign up to your mailing list?
Send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org stating subscribe and you will be added to our list. We have a chapter in Aberdeen, so you can chose to receive e-mails regarding only things that happen in Aberdeen or in London or you can receive e-mails relating to both cities.
How do I unsubscribe from your mail list?
You can send us an e-mail stating unsubscribe. We will then remove your e-mail from our records.
